lyrics
Parallel
I was just a pebble bouncing on your pond
I had no plan
You got my focus pinned
And you sat on the reed and silently watched
the world cradle in the wind
We shared a smoke on the balcony
While the snow was rolling in February spread our souls so thin
I said, It’ll take a while before I’ll be back again
And we carved the initials of our names
in the ice, and I was lost in warm rosewood eyes
My self-assurance was tossed under moody velvet skies
Now the loon cries a minor tale
And I’m doing the same, cause nowadays thats’ the only time I play
But once before our broken hearts, dreams and black tar stuck under
our finger nails
I was always rushing I was bouncing towards the sea, and from your point of you,
It must have been looking,
like I tried to flee.
It was not the world, not the city, not the deep blue sea, that was swaying
It was always you. Don’t you see I’ve been sleeping
on the brightest of days
Without a clue that the sun, would melt the ice away.
